When you have a family, you can often find yourself struggling with different ideas. Because you definitely want to enjoy your own tastes and preferences as the person that you are, but you also want to ensure that you family is happy. This can definitely be a conundrum that you face when it comes to your home decor. And in particular, when it comes to your bathroom.

To you, your bathroom may have always been the place that you could relax, get away from the world, and unwind after a hard day. But when you have a family, you can often have a new kind of lifestyle to work around. So, can you really create a bathroom that will suit the needs of everyone in the family? Let’s see...

Start With The Flooring

To do this, you’re going to need to think about working in stages, and it’s often always good to start at the bottom and work your way up. So, to do that, you’re going to need to pick out the flooring first. Thankfully for us all, the best bathroom flooring materials are generally quite family friendly. So this means you won’t have to compromise on a stunning style that you might like because it’s not suitable for children.

Choose A Good Loo Position

Now, this might sound like the oddball of the bunch, and in some ways it is, but it’s also something you may need to consider carefully when you have a family. Because you don’t want your loo to be tucked out of the way and hard to get too - especially when you’re toilet training. So, ensure that you choose a prominent place in the bathroom for it, to avoid any unwanted accidents!

Bath Or Shower Or Both?

Then there’s the age-old debate of bath or shower. Everyone has their own preference. Whether you love to have a long soak in the tub or a quick shower in the morning, you need to pick the option that's right for your family. You may even find that a quick shop around on a site such as Bathroom Takeaway is a good idea, just so you can see what is available. Then it might help you to decide between you two choices, or to even go with both.

Choose Convenient Storage

And because this bathroom is going to be more about the families needs, you are going to find that you have a lot of stuff to store. From the kids' loo seat and potty to their bath toys, you may not want to leave it all out on display. But, if you’re able to pick out some convenient storage options, you may find that you can hide it all away when guest are over, and take out what you need when the time is right.

One Sink Or Two?

And of course, you may also want to decide whether or not you want to go with one sink or two. Because when you have a big family, one basin may not be enough! If you want everyone to get out of the door on time in the mornings, you’re definitely going to want to ensure that you opt for two basins where you can!
