August beauty finds

I love a bit of a pamper (who doesn't?) and have been taking much better care of my skin of late, with a few new things being added into my routine that I am really loving.

No 7 Protect and Perfect Intense Advanced Eye Cream (RRP £18)

I always come back to No7 and really rate a lot of their products - worth trying out a few new things when they have an offer on! I needed a new eye cream and this one does seem to be doing the trick. I have sensitive eyes but this doesn't irritate them at all and I swear it's making a difference.

The skin under my eyes seems to be smoother and tighter, so this little product is going to stay a part of my routine.

No 7 Protect and Perfect Intense Serum (RRP £34)

I remember when No 7 first launched their Protect and Perfect serum, years and years ago, to rave reviews. I loved it back then, and the feel of it on my skin, so I don't really know why I haven't used it for a long time. When it was my birthday last month, I went to Boots and wanted to treat myself to some new things, so using one of the offers they often have, I picked up this serum and have to say, it is pretty lovely.

It's light and quickly absorbed and I do feel like my skin is smoother as a result. A good routine is of course important, but this fits into it and I do think my face has more of a glow and even appearance since adding this into my daily skincare rituals.

Nip + Fab Fixes No Needle Fix Night Cream (RRP £19.95, currently on offer at Superdrug for £9.75)

I really, really rate this range. I have tried a few things over the past 18 months or so and have loved all of it to be honest. This is a rich night cream that feels effective and seems to cushion the skin, and in the morning I wake up feeling that my skin has been boosted - and it's not heavy like so many night treatments can be.

Nip + Fab Dragon's Blood Fix Mask (RRP £14.95, currently on offer direct from the website for £4.95)

I use this once a week to give my skin a hydration boost. It's like a gel and you apply a thick layer to your face after cleansing and before bed, and then it does its thing. In the hot weather, I have used it less as I am just too hot and sticky at night, but otherwise I enjoy using this and for the current price, it's well worth a try.

Misfit Shine Natural Teeth Whitening with Activated Charcoal (RRP £29, currently on offer direct for £5)

I hadn't come across the Misfit beauty website, but there's some really interesting things on offer and when they offered me this charcoal whitening treatment for teeth to try, I was intrigued to try it out.

I've seen videos of people on YouTube and Instagram brushing their teeth and their mouths being completely black and wondered what on earth they were doing. But there is some sense to it! Charcoal is a natural ingredient that can clean away stains and has antibacterial properties too.

With the Misfit Activated Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder, you just need to gently dip the top of your toothbrush into the powder and then brush away. I do this after brushing my teeth normally, and you only need a little bit as it quickly spreads. It is unusual at first, but there is no smell or taste really, and the powder is fine, so it doesn't feel unpleasant - just have a good rinse afterwards.

Here's the info on what it does and how it can help:

  • Super fine Activated Charcoal powder SCRUBS your teeth clean
  • Non Sensitive Teeth Whitening
  • Naturally whitens teeth by scrubbing away stains
  • Helps to prevent bacteria growth in the mouth
  • Leave your teeth feeling as clean as after a scale and polish at the dentist
  • Vegan friendly and cruelty free
Worth checking out, and so far, so good for me!

I like trying out quirky products, and this one I am saving for after baby is born, as I believe that detox products should be avoided during pregnancy because you need to stay hydrated.
But I am looking forward to trying these pads!
Described as 'the ultimate foot detox pads', they are a natural and detoxifying treatment to get rid of the grime and filth that your feet collect during your busy day and detoxify your body.
They have a fresh scent of green tea and bamboo extract, and are meant to leave your feet feeling clean and soft - sounds really good to me! Working as you sleep, you'll wake up noticing the toxins drawn out are left on the pads.
These are the directions Misfit give for use:

  • Make sure your feet are clean and dry before use
  • Avoid putting moisturiser on your feet before use
  • Remove the larger piece from the adhesive sheet and discard
  • Place the foot detox pads onto the centre of the sole of your foot
  • Leave on for 8-12 hours for full absorption
  • Remove the foot detox pads which should now be dark in colour
  • Discard foot detox pads
  • Use daily until pads are clear after use and then once per week thereafter
Have you tried something like this before? How did you find it?

Any other new beauty treats I should be adding to my wishlist for September?

* The two Misfit items were gifted, all others bought myself, and every opinion my own.
