Updating my wardrobe with Rydale #review

The weather has been changeable of late, hasn't it? Where we are, we have had a lot of rain over the past two weeks although there is promise of some sun over the next few days, so who knows?!

Whilst being at home means I have certainly been taking a more relaxed and comfort-led approach to my wardrobe, I have wanted to try and make an effort some days and to feel a bit more 'normal' and like my usual self. Wearing an outfit that makes you feel good can make all the difference to your mood, I think.

With the weather being in-between, I have been mixing items and I have one new addition, courtesy of Rydale, specialists in  British country clothing classics, that is seeing me through the cooler days and will be a staple come autumn for sure. Enter the Danby Wool Felt Hat (#gifted).

Now, I can't tell you a) how long it took me to choose a colour option and b) just how lovely this hat really is in the flesh, but I am over the moon with my new accessory. A plain outfit, a maxi dress or a t-shirt, jean and blazer combo can all be enhanced with the addition of a hat and the Danby from Rydale is super versatile. It adds a touch of flair to the simplest clothes, or can really finish off a more dressed-up look.

Here's what you need to know:

A timeless icon, this 100% wool Fedora hat will truly stand the test of time. Whilst there are many styles, it has been refined over decades and continues to adorn stylish heads up and down the country. This piece is as classic as it gets. Including a teardrop crown, polyester band and a side feather that is oh so stylish.

The top of the fedora forms a big “C” hence, the C-Crown style fedora. It’s purposely designed to be robust and crushable, made entirely of wool (100%) and of course water-resistant. It helps you conjure a sophisticated look that will score you some sure-fire style points whether you venture down the races or head to the local country market.
  • Materials: All Rydale Fedora hats are made entirely of wool that is soft to touch, and feel luxurious on your head.
  • Water Repellent: Wool is naturally very water repellent, so you'll be glad to know your head will stay when the rain pours.
  • Sizing: Rydale has three sizes of our Fedora hats. Small, medium and large.

This unique piece will fit perfectly in your country fashion wardrobe. If you're going to a formal or smart dress event in the evening, one of our dark felt fedora hats would best suit your needs. If it's the races your heading to on a hot summers day then team up one of our brighter coloured hats with a crisp white shirt and tall country boots.

The Danby comes in nine shades: Navy, Dark Olive, Brown, Blue, Red, Beige, Burgundy, Purple and Mustard. Honestly, I could have picked any one of these as it's a beautiful, timeless style and the colour options make it suitable for so many different looks and outfits.

I opted for purple this time, to compliment my current hair shade, and I thought it would be a nice pop of colour as well as ideal for seeing me through the seasons.

The finish of the hat is of the utmost quality and the leather trim and feather embellishment add a stunning finishing touch. For £35, it is every bit the bargain AND a beautiful piece that I will love for years to come.

I am in love with by Danby hat from Rydale; a hat at this time is a great way to hide those roots (!) whilst waiting for the hairdressers to open, but also great for the unpredictable weather. I instantly feel 'put-together' and like I have raised the style stakes when wearing it and I am trying to decide which colour to buy next. Navy, brown and beige are universal, whilst the blue, red and mustard are all statement pieces.

Decisions, decisions!

What do you think of the Danby? Which colour would you pick and how would you wear yours?
