Wizarding World Wands UK tour in celebration of the release of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, in cinemas on 8th April 2022

 One thing to know about me is that I LOVE Harry Potter. I am a Hufflepuff, I have a couple of HP themed tattoos and I even redecorated my study in full wizarding style.


So you can imagine how happy this press release made me... will you be going?? It is touring the UK and we will won't miss it when it arrives in Birmingham.


 

WIZARDING WORLD WAND INSTALLATION TO VISIT BIRMINGHAM

LOCATION AND DATE DETAILS ANNOUNCED FOR THE SPRING 2022 TOUR, AS VOTED BY THE PUBLIC

  • A dazzling installation of Wizarding World Wands will tour four UK locations including Birmingham in celebration of the release of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, in cinemas on 8th April 2022

  • Installation consists of nine 15ft-tall wands representing nine beloved characters from Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films

  • From 2nd March to 8th April the wands will tour Hull, Birmingham, Stoke-on-Trent and Reading, being displayed in each location for seven magical days


The stunning Wizarding World Wand installation is set to visit Birmingham, as well as three other locations in the UK this Spring, to celebrate the release of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, in cinemas on 8th April 2022.


The four chosen locations - Hull, Birmingham, Stoke-on-Trent and Reading - were voted for by the public and will each host the exciting installation for seven days.


Hull, which received the most public votes, will launch the tour, followed by Birmingham, Stoke-on-Trent and ending in Reading.. The full dates and locations are: 


  • Hull, Queen Victoria Square - 2nd - 8th March 

  • Birmingham, the Bullring - 11th - 17th March 

  • Stoke-on-Trent, Smithfield - 21st - 27th March 

  • Reading, The Oracle Shopping Centre - 30th March - 5th April

 

Standing 15 feet tall and set within concrete bases, the nine wands – bringing to life those belonging to some of the favourite characters in the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films – will illuminate each evening, performing a light show to the thrilling music from the Fantastic Beasts and Harry Potter films.

About Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore


Warner Bros. Pictures’ “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore” is the newest adventure in the Wizarding World™ created by J.K. Rowling.


Professor Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) knows the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Mads Mikkelsen) is moving to seize control of the wizarding world.  Unable to stop him alone, he entrusts Magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) to lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker on a dangerous mission, where they encounter old and new beasts and clash with Grindelwald’s growing legion of followers.  But with the stakes so high, how long can Dumbledore remain on the sidelines?


The film features an ensemble cast, including Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne (“The Theory of Everything”), two-time Oscar nominee Jude Law (“Cold Mountain,” “The Talented Mr. Ripley”), Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, William Nadylum, Callum Turner, Jessica Williams, Victoria Yeates, Poppy Corby-Tuech, Fiona Glascott, Katherine Waterston, Maria Fernanda Cândido, Richard Coyle, Oliver Masucci, Valerie Pachner, and Mads Mikkelsen.


“Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore” was directed by David Yates, from a screenplay by J.K. Rowling & Steve Kloves, based upon a screenplay by J.K. Rowling.  The film was produced by David Heyman, J.K. Rowling, Steve Kloves, Lionel Wigram and Tim Lewis.  Neil Blair, Danny Cohen, Josh Berger, Courtenay Valenti and Michael Sharp served as executive producers.


The film’s behind-the-scenes creative team included director of photography George Richmond (“Rocketman”), three-time Oscar-winning production designer Stuart Craig (“The English Patient,” “Dangerous Liaisons,” “Gandhi,” the “Harry Potter” and “Fantastic Beasts” films) and production designer Neil Lamont (“Solo: A Star Wars Story,” “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”), Yates’ longtime editor Mark Day (“Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald,” the last four “Harry Potter” films), Oscar-nominated visual effects supervisor Christian Mänz (“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1,” the “Fantastic Beasts” films), and four-time Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood (“Chicago,” “Memoirs of a Geisha,” “Alice in Wonderland,” “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”).  The music is by nine-time Oscar nominee James Newton Howard (“News of the World,” “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald,” “Defiance,” “Michael Clayton,” “The Hunger Games” films).


Warner Bros. Pictures presents a Heyday Films Production, a David Yates film, “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore,” in cinemas from 8th April 2022.  The film will be distributed worldwide in select cinemas and IMAX by Warner Bros. Pictures.
