...days out: What the Ladybird Heard at Town Hall Birmingham - exclusive competition!

* NEW UPDATE: The cast of What the Ladybird Heard will be coming to Birmingham for a promo day on Monday 19 December. They will be at Birmingham Children’s library at 1.30pm for a free pop-up performance, reading of the book, colouring competitions and ticket giveaways…and various other fun bits and pieces!

We are big fans of the wonderful children's author Julia Donaldson in our house. Not a night goes by when we aren't reading one of her stories, from the classic The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo's Child (last night's choices) to A Squash and A Squeeze and Stick Man.

We took Ethan to see Stick Man live at Town Hall Birmingham a couple of months ago and, as a Christmas treat, we're going to be enjoying What the Ladybird Heard there on 28th December - and Ethan is going to be thrilled!

Here's what it's all about:

Two crafty robbers, one tiny ladybird, and a whole farmyard of fun! Hefty Hugh and Lanky Len have a cunning plan to steal the farmer’s fine prize cow. But they reckon without the tiniest, quietest creature of all: The Ladybird has a plan of her own!
Book early for this glittering family treat. Join the woolly sheep, the hairy hog, the fat red hen and the dainty dog in this stage adaptation of Julia Donaldson & Lydia Monks’ colourful farmyard adventure. With live music, puppetry, plenty of audience participation and lots of laughs!

Recommended for children aged three and over, What the Ladybird Heard tickets are on sale now for performances showing between Tuesday 27th December to Wednesday 11th January priced between £12 and £17. Find out more and book tickets now.
From past attendance at family shows such as this, it's sure to be a lot of fun for kids big and small and Town Hall always puts on a great line up. There's something for everyone at Town Hall and Symphony Hall this Christmas, so it's well worth checking out so you can plan in a seasonal show to treat the family or a loved one to.

I am a blogger ambassador for Town Hall and Symphony Hall Birmingham, reviewing a variety of shows during the year, so look out for my review of What the Ladybird Heard by the end of the year.
