Second trimester treats for mama

I am into my second trimester and bump is cooking along nicely, hopefully, without there being too much to complain about. Although of course, we've all had this heatwave and it is a real treat to have so much nice weather for such a length of time, everyone asks pregnant women like me how we are coping.

I'm doing ok - it's hard to tell if I feel any hotter than I normally would in this weather, with bump in tow - and I'm using a few things to help keep me cool and refreshed as I go through the second trimester during the summer months.

Natural Birthing Company - Cool It Mama spray and Bump Envy stretchmark oil

The calming and cooling Cool It Mama body spritz (RRP £8.99) is just so lovely and a nice pick me up, especially when I am feeling super hot or to help with any little stresses. You can use it all pregnancy long and it may also be helpful during labour (willing to give anything a go!) so worth trying out, particularly if this heatwave continues.

As my bump has well and truly developed, I'm conscious of giving it some TLC and the Bump Envy (RRP £10.99 for 100ml) oil is really handy as it comes in a pump format and is super light, so you can spray and rub in without being left feeling like a greasy chip.

EyeWake Collagen Eye Gel

A combination of disrupted sleep, dry skin and turning the big 3-4 has left me in need of some facial treats and EyeWake Hydrating Eye Serum (currently £18.95 for 30ml on offer on Amazon) is a new addition to my skincare routine that I am enjoying. It is clear and very light, meaning you only need a small pump of product to tap around your eyes, and it seems to be really gentle too. I can tell in the morning when applying make up that the delicate skin around my eyes is smoother and it feels soothed, so I am really pleased with this new product. Here's the lowdown if you like the sound of it:

  • REDUCE DARK CIRCLES & PUFFINESS - The luxury eye gel formula combines powerful ingredients to target areas around your eyes. Cucumber & Elderflower instantly awakens and soothes puffy eyes. Laded with Vitamin-E, a strong antioxidant that moisturises the skin;
  • RICH IN POWERFUL ANTIOXIDANTS - using natural products it helps boost your skins vitality;
  • NOT JUST FOR EYES - Your eyes aren't the only part of your face that can benefit from the age defying properties of this product. With simple application to your cheeks, forehead and the areas around your mouth and lips, you'll see correction to these signs of ageing in no time, helping you attain a smooth and brilliant complexion. A perfect base and primer for makeup;
  • MADE FROM A TRUSTED SOURCE - EyeWake skincare products are never tested on animals and are made and manufactured cruelty-free in the UK at our state of the art laboratories. Suitable for all skin type's. Contains no alcohol;

No7 Airbrush Primer

Not necessarily a pregnancy product, but the No7 Airbrush Away Primer (£16.50 for 30ml) is working wonders for me in helping to smooth and prep my skin and I swear that it's helping my make up last, even on the warmest of days. I really like how it feels and it does seem to create a good base, with my foundation seeming to last all day long since I have been using it.

Pixi Glow Mist

Pixi Glow Mist (around £20 for 80ml from various online shops) is a bit of a cult product but I only picked it up a couple of months ago to replace one from Lush I had been using. It's meant to set your make up nicely and, well, give you a bit of a glow and it is a nice refreshing pick-me-up during the day if you're feeling a little hot and your face is feeling a little dry.

What things did / do you enjoy using during your pregnancy? And how are you keeping cool during this heatwave?
