Two transitional dresses for autumn from Boohoo Maternity

Following on from my little red dress post, I have a couple more to share with you, gifted from Boohoo Maternity, that are so comfortable to wear but have a really nice look to them - and they're great for this transitional period, as autumn starts to approach.

Autumn is my favourite time of year and it's a good time to start stocking up on a few things to update your wardrobe, particularly when sleeves will be needed again and if you have a growing bump like mine, you may need some new staples.

First up is this fit and flare style polka dot dress - pictured here in terracotta, but also available in black with white polka dots and visa versa (just £15 each).

The fabric is really generous and the skirt is pretty floaty - for me, I'd say black tights or leggings are needed! I chose this colour as I thought it was something different to what I would normally wear and I think it makes the dress stand out even more. It's a flattering shape (I wear a long-line vest top underneath) and the three quarter length sleeves I particularly like.

Another dress that can be dressed up or down, I've added brushed gold hoops for the evening whilst a denim jacket and trainers makes the whole look a little more casual.

The second dress I have to share with you today is another one that really embodies autumn - in fact, it's one of my favourite shades for the season ahead!

This smock long sleeve dress comes in six different colours, and I may have to buy them all! I chose the Caramel shade because I rarely go a day of autumn without an element of this to my look, so knew it would fit in my existing wardrobe.

I like the sleeves, as a longer length is good for when it gets chillier and they are slightly fluted at the end, which adds a nice touch. I do wear a vest underneath this too, as it is quite a lightweight fabric.

The frilly detailing across the middle sits nicely above bump, and is repeated at the shoulders, which turns an otherwise basic style dress into something more interesting. Yet another option that is versatile and can be worn day to night, casual to formal, with the help of some accessories and a slick of lippie.

I will be wearing this with my leopard print ankle boots come autumn, and I'm keen to buy a couple more - at £14, you really can't complain!

Both of these dresses are a size 14 and have room for bump to grow, and I think they're a real bargain; even though you don't want to spend a fortune on a maternity wardrobe when it's a limited period of time, I think both these styles may see me through long after bump has turned into baby.
