A little red maternity dress

Take one simple t-shirt style bodycon dress, one pregnant lady and a dramatic manor house backdrop and voila! You’ve got yourself a photo shoot!

It’s crazy just how good this £10 dress from Boohoo’s Maternity collection looks. I wore it when we were just having a typical family day out on Saturday, which included a trip to Monkey Forest than Shugborough Hall and when at the latter, there were just some great opportunities to take a few photos - and my red dress made me feel super glam despite it being quite a basic staple.

Available in classic black and versatile grey, as well as this punchy bright red, it’s such a simple design but really adaptable too, whether keeping it low key with some trainers and a denim jacket, or making of feel more dressed up with tassel earrings or a statement necklace.

It’s a great wardrobe essential and for the price, well worth grabbing. You may only be pregnant for a short time in the grand scheme of things, but your changing shape does mean that you’ll need to get a few things and I’m very much about embracing my bump so knew I’d like this dress. I’d usually be too self conscious to wear something like this but the fit suits me whilst I’m curvier, carrying a baby, so I’m going to enjoy it while I can.

For £10, it’s a bargain, especially for summer but, once the heatwave and holidays end, I think it would be a good option to keep to hand as we enter into autumn. Boots, belt and cardigan can warm this up, or save for a relaxed evening option.

When you buy maternity clothes, you know there is a short period of time where you will wear most of them, so value does count and I am really pleased with this bargain. I am quite shocked at how limiting the clothes selection can feel for pregnant women. Maternity collections from most stores tend to be pretty limited and nowhere on the high street seems to stock in real shops now - just a few select stores if you are lucky. Online shopping is the way to go, but I do think there could be more of an offering.

This is why I am so happy with what I've picked; well done Boohoo Maternity, you have a great selection of affordable options for us bumpy ladies.

I was gifted two other dresses (all together, they came to just £40) so watch this space as I will be sharing these soon.
