One of the things I love more than anything to enjoy is a spa day. I have to say, it has been longer than I can remember since the last time I went to a spa, which is a sign in itself that it has been too long! I used to go at least once a year, around some of my friends' birthdays, as a girls' weekend away, and we always looked forward to it.
However, since my friends all started having their children too, it's just not been something we can plan in. We are certainly well overdue, but for now, I'll have to try my best to pamper at home and add a little sense of a spa to my own bathroom.
It's important to take some time to relax and unwind, even if you can't go away to do it. I think a lot of us enjoy having a bit of a pamper and it is easy enough to do with the right ambiance and a few treats. Light some scented candles, tell Alexa to play a relaxing playlist, and pop on a face mask and you can *almost* convince yourself you are somewhere else.
Imagine if you could really turn your bathroom into a spa? Well, actually, you can! You can turn your bathroom into a spa experience - how? With steam showers - the ultimate indulgence that you can enjoy EVERY DAY.
A steam shower is usually an enclosure that looks very similar to your typical shower cubicle, but it has all those extra features that really elevate the whole experience. When turned on, a steam shower can produce a continuous stream of warm steam to soothe your mind and body. This humid environment will last for as long as you require and will transport you away to another place.
The water vapour produced by a steam shower is very good for both your skin and your respiratory system. I have a dry skin condition called psoriasis and enjoying a steam room at a spa day has always made a big difference, so having my own steam shower would be really beneficial. Many steam showers come with features such as aromatherapy, chromotherapy through the use of colour-changing LED lights, and even Bluetooth connectivity.
So, you really could create your own sense of spa at home with a steam shower. It's certainly on my wishlist...
