So, summer may have stalled a little this year, but we did have hot weather back in May and June and it is said to be making a comeback this September, so we might not have seen the last of the warm weather just yet.
I don't know about you, but I am stereotypically British when it comes to the heat and can find it really difficult to cope when the temperature creeps up. Nighttime can be especially bothersome and there is no way I can catch any winks, let alone forty, without a little help from a portable air cooler. It is far better than a fan, hands down!
Super convenient and easy to move around the house or office (the clue is in the name, after all!), portable air coolers are a must-have as they can quickly turn a stuffy or overly warm room into a cooler and more comfortable environment.
We don't have consistently hot weather in this country for many of us to consider a traditional air conditioning system, and they can be expensive to install and use too. That's why a portable air cooler is our best bet, offering a cost-effective and energy-efficient solution to keep us cool and comfortable, whenever we need it.
Portable air coolers are usually compact and lightweight devices designed to cool indoor and outdoor spaces by using the natural process of evaporation. Unlike traditional air conditioners that use refrigerants and require a closed space, portable air coolers work best in well-ventilated areas, making them an ideal choice for open rooms, garages, workshops, and even outdoor gatherings.
They are relatively efficient and environmentally friendly, as they pull in warm air from the surroundings and passing it through moistened cooling pads (I used to have a home heating client so weirdly know quite a lot about this kind of thing!). As the warm air passes through the pads, the water evaporates, cooling the air in the process. The cooler air is then circulated back into the room, providing a refreshing and consistent breeze.
You also don't need to do a lot to maintain them and they should come with a good guarantee.
The key when choosing which one to buy is to consider the size of the space you want to cool and relate this to a cooler that has an appropriate cooling capacity. A larger water tank will allow for longer cooling and less frequent refills and coolers with wheels and/or handles will help with mobility. Some models come with features like remote controls, adjustable fan speeds, and timers for added convenience.
The final thing worth checking is the decibel rating, to ensure the cooler operates quietly, especially if you plan to use it in your bedroom or other quiet space.
If you can't take the heat... stay cool a portable air cooler!
