The Week That Was Captured #28 & #29

This is another two week round-up - what can I say, I've been a bit busy! I've been trying to make the most of my free time and enjoy spending time with this little monkey and at times, this has meant putting down my phone or camera, stepping away from my blog or social feeds and just living in the moment. It's not always easy, but I feel better for putting less pressure on myself. Lord knows there's enough things to keep us busy!

Ethan is doing so well and is such a character. This past week, he's started saying almost complete sentences, like 'It's slide down Mummy!' and 'I'm not naughty boy' after being ever so slightly naughty.

I wrote him a new letter to try and write down some of our memories from the past month, but there's always something I forget. Like how he says 'Harry Potter' when he sees one of our DVD's (it's so cute) or the way he dances when he hears the Friends theme tune (we're re-watching the series at the moment).

He's just so much fun.

Although he does have quite a few quick changes in mood. Gotta love those toddler two tantrums! He looks a lot like me when he's in a grump...

Last weekend, we visited my Dad for a couple of days. He took Ethan to see the ducks and I took them both for a trip around the shops in Reading. We had lunch by the river and I picked up my Cath Kidston 2016 diary (never too early!). It was really, really nice.

This was a delicious goats cheese and mushroom flatbread. Best enjoyed with sunshine and a cold drink.

I also had my hair done last week. It has been four months since my change to shorter, graduated, red colour change hair and my roots and ends needed sorting.

I went a bit shorter and a bit more dramatic with the cut. So not too different to before, but still getting used to it now.

Some big rollers on the top layers really help to give my hair some lift. And they make my monkey smile too.

Above, I had started getting ready for a family gathering on Saturday night. Then, just a matter of minutes later, this happened...

So we had a quiet night in instead whilst Ethan slept for 14 hours straight.

We've spent quite a bit of time at home recently and it's been nice. Hubs tackled our bathroom floor (goodbye green carpet - I mean, who carpets bathrooms these days?!) and I'm loving our new monochrome geometric tiles. It's only a small space so the busy pattern works and actually makes the room feel bigger.

I've been making the most of my evenings off the bedtime routine and have finally started getting my Project Life scrapbook up to date again. It's been a while! I have a couple of photo projects underway at the moment and will be sharing more on these soon. So, the rest of August is going to be filled with more photos, more fun and just more of this little face I love so much.

If you're on summer holidays, live in the Midlands and want some ideas of where to go or what to do, you could check out my guide to days out - I'm hoping we can do a few more of these over the next couple of months.

NIce for them to visit with the grandparents I feel we offer something more relaxed and different than parents do, we dont feel the pressure the same.
Wow at the bathroom floor. #TWTWC
